Who is Format FWD?
I'm Marijn Versteeg and Format FWD is my one-person business. No account managers, no standard packages, no juniors learning on your work. With more than 16 years of marketing experience on client and agency side, I know what works. In recent years, as Strategic Director at KickSo, I built an AI platform that runs marketing work at client level. That same platform is now the foundation of every Format FWD engagement: marketing strategy, AI marketing or interim leadership. FWD stands for Forward: with the right approach and the right technology, I help companies move ahead.
I have worked for companies including BNP Paribas, Boels Rental, Riwal, Superkeukens, 123inkt, Gamestate and more. In various management and operational roles, across B2C, B2B, D2C and enterprise. What I kept seeing: marketing teams working hard but without a solid plan. Or with a good plan but without the technology to make it scalable. In recent years I have seen how AI can fundamentally change marketing workflows. Not as a replacement for people, but as a foundation on which your team works faster and sharper. I turned that insight into a platform. Format FWD brings marketing strategy, AI marketing and interim leadership together for teams that want to move to the next level.
For four years Marijn was at the helm of an international e-commerce company himself, part of 123inkt and 123accu. As managing director and e-commerce manager he was ultimately responsible for revenue, margin and international growth. That period shaped how he looks at webshops now: not from a single channel, but from the complete picture.
My mission
My mission is simple: helping companies that have good intentions but struggle to get their marketing properly organised. Not as an agency that takes on jobs, but as someone who truly understands what is going on and helps make it better.
